Why Collect Rain Water?

Rainwater is better for your garden- Rainwater does not have chlorine like tap water often does. Plants like rainwater better!

Conservation- Our Rainwater Collection Systems provide water for maintaining your plants and vegetation around your residence. This means that you do not have to use water that has been treated for drinking (if you draw from a municipal water supply), thereby reducing the total amount of chemicals and energy used for the production of treated drinking water.

In 2004 there were approximately 248,911 households in Nashville Tn. If just 25% of those had our Basic Rainwater Collection System, and used just one full load (about 90-100 gallons) for watering vegetation, that would result in approximately 5,600,497 gallons of treated drinking water not being used for outdoor watering.

The average 1,500 square foot roof can collect over 800 gallons of water with just one inch of rainfall. If your area received 48 inches of rain in a year, that would be over 38,400 gallons of water!

Water Restrictions- You probably live in an area, or know someone who has had to deal with government imposed water restrictions during the later months of the summer. With our Rainwater Collection Systems, you can still water your plants and flowers. Our basic system holds 90-100 gallons of water. This is enough to fill a gallon jug almost 100 times! Our Rainwater Collection Systems can be expanded at anytime.

Recovery Time- While the time it takes for your system to refill depends on several factors such as rate of rain fall, roof size, how many feet of rain gutter feeds your system, and system size, most owners of our systems report that an empty Basic Rainwater Collection System is full after just fifteen minutes of a decent rain fall.
